Secondary market shares indicate a sharp reduction in the web3 gaming giant's valuation since July 2022.
Animoca Brands Sees Valuation Fall 75 Percent

Crypto conglomerate Animoca Brands has experienced a valuation decline of more than 75 percent over a two-year period, according to a recent report by CoinGape. Secondary shares of the firm are currently trading at a valuation of approximately 1.5 billion dollars, marking a substantial drop from the 5.9 billion dollar valuation recorded in July 2022.

The contraction in valuation has generated increased scrutiny within the digital asset sector regarding the pricing of private web3 assets and gaming portfolios. Despite the downward adjustment in market capitalization, Animoca Brands reported total holdings of 3.3 billion dollars in cash, digital assets, and equities during its first-quarter financial results ending in March. The company continues to operate as a prominent investor in blockchain gaming and non-fungible token infrastructure, maintaining a vast portfolio of web3 projects.

Market analysts note that the valuation shift reflects broader macroeconomic pressures and changing sentiment across the digital asset industry. While the primary funding rounds previously established higher valuation marks, secondary market transactions have recalibrated expectations for private cryptocurrency firms as liquidity conditions evolve.
