Ethereum Targets Quantum-Resistant Layer 1 by 2029
Ethereum developers are racing to complete a Layer 1 network transition to achieve quantum resistance by the end of 2029, according to recent technical reports from ambcrypto. In tandem with this long-term objective, the Hegota upgrade plans to initiate an intermediate step toward transitioning account signatures to stronger cryptographic standards beginning at the end of 2026.
